Frequently asked questions

The best pleated shades are the ones that fit your needs and interior preferences. If your number one priority is blocking out heat in summer with a maximum UV protection, solar shades are the way to go. Looking for a window treatment for rooftop skylight windows? Choose our skylight pleated shades that are provided with additional guide rails to prevent sagging. The best pleated shades for the office are white pleated shades in Thermo as they let through just the right amount of light without being too bright and keep the room cool and ready to unleash productivity.

Pleated shades are in fact one of the most stylish window treatments on the market. They’re not only a subtle way of covering your windows and maintaining  privacy and intimacy, but also suit as an element of decoration. As they are available in a wide range of colors and fabrics, they certainly can add visual interest, texture or a pop of color to your windows while maintaining a cohesive look. Temperature regulation and UV protection are just the cherry on top. With pleated shades you definitely won’t have to trade style for functionality as you get the best of both worlds!

You surely can continue taking steamy showers! Water steam is no problem for our pleated shades and direct contact with water in moderation is also fine. However constant contact with large amounts of water could lead to damages in the structure of the pleated fabric and should therefore be avoided. The answer is yes, but in moderation! As a precaution, consider wiping your pleated shades off with a dry cloth after long showers or contact with water.

We counteract these and more problems known from other manufacturers already in the development process. As we do not use regular aluminum foil as an outer coating for our Thermo pleated shades, but a self-developed lacquer impregnation, your windows remain safe and sound. Pinky promise!

Should your pleated shade not hold its position, slide down on its own or not hang horizontally, it’s a sign that the cords are too loose and/or the knots not on the same height. But exactly how to adjust pleated shades? For tightening the cords simply tie new knots above the current ones and cut the excess cord off. Keep in mind that the knots should be on the same height on both sides for the pleated shade to hang horizontally.

What if your pleated shades won’t go up? This could be a sign that the cords are too tight. Now the answer to the question on how to fix pleated shades is simple. The repair process is similar to the one above. However in this case new knots should be tied below the current ones in order to loosen the cords up a bit. Remember that in this scenario the current knots should be first undone before placing new ones. Otherwise new knots would not solve the problem. If your pleated shade only goes up on one side and is stuck on the other, the cords on the problematic side may have gotten tangled in the spring inside the profile rail during transport. To keep your pleated shade running again carefully remove the end cap of the profile rail and take a look inside. A quick fix could involve untangling the string from the spring and calling it a win!

When your pleated shade keeps sliding down or does not hang horizontally, just tie new knots above the current ones. The knots should be on the same height on both sides. If the strings completely slipped out of the fabric, please contact our customer service.

The removal of pleated shades is even easier than the installation process. The only thing that needs to be done is clipping the cord tensioning shoes out of the brackets. But how to remove pleated shades from brackets? For best and fastest results use both of your thumbs to push the cord tensioning shoe out. And to make life even easier start with the bottom ones and then move on to the holders at the top. This prevents the pleated shade from falling down during the disassembly. That is all that needs to be done to remove pleated shades from windows.

Yes. Whether you have the striking urge to unleash your creative mind or simply seek a quick change of scenery, you certainly can take a brush and start painting.
Use acrylic paint for best results on polyester fabric. However keep in mind to apply thin layers rather than one thick layer in order to prevent damages to the structure of the pleated fabric. Thick layers could also lead to cracks in the paint. Apply new layers only after the previous one is completely dry. Luckily acrylic paint does it in no-time!
In addition, because of the fabric’s unique folding technique, not even the sky’s the limit: there are plenty of fun ways to set the perfect stage for your paintings.

We know that there are many creative minds out there. It’s time to set your creativity free and share your outcomes with us for a chance to be featured on our homepage!
