It depends whether you have a fixed window or a window that can be opened. Also the type of window treatment is crucial: pleated shades, roller shades or blackout curtains. As for pleated shades and fixed windows we recommend our shades with drilling or – for those of you that don’t want to or aren’t allowed to drill – with gluing. For windows that can be opened our pleated shades without drilling with clamp holders are just the way to go. For further details we invite you to visit our product pages.

For drilling or gluing your pleated shades the measurement is exactly the same. Meaning you can swap the mounting to the other one if you’d like at any time. The measurement instructions differ when picking a clamp mounting for your pleated shades. As for roller shades you get both mountings with drilling and without drilling, with no adjustments in the measurement instructions. All instructions including examples can be found in detail in the description of the desired product. Pick your preferred window treatment and scroll down to the measurement instructions. When in doubt, our customer service is ready to assist you.

We have invested a significant amount of time to find the best fabrics in every possible way. Whether it’s a thermal fabric, which can be found in both a pleated shade or roller shade option, or a super soft velvet darkening fabric with blackout curtains and there’s even more: you can choose out of one-colored fabrics in various variations like pink, red, white, grey…the list goes on! Or maybe a bohemian-like linen- or jacquard-style fabric in shades of grey or beige? There certainly is a shade in every shade!

For detailed info about the light values to every single color and fabric option simply pick the desired fabric collection on the product page and scroll through the product images. You will find values for light transmission, light reflection as well as light absorption. For a high darkening as possible focus on a low as possible light transmission. When keeping it cool is your number one priority, choose a color with a low light absorption value. Here:

  • Light transmission – the transmission of light through the fabric (the lower the value, the less light and heat passes through the fabric into the room, i.e. the darker the room remains).
  • Light reflection – the reflection of sunlight to the outside (the higher the value, the more light is reflected by the fabric. The more light and heat a fabric reflects the less enters the room).
  • Light absorption – the light absorbed by the fabric and converted into heat energy (the higher the value, the more heat is absorbed by the fabric. The absorbed heat is then released into the room over a period of time).

There are certainly some factors to consider in order to maximize the functions of your roller or pleated shade:

  • What is the room being used for? (Purpose)
  • How is the window built and how big is it? (Architecture of the window)
  • What direction does the window face? (Side of the building)
  • On which floor of the building is the window located? Are there direct neighbors? (Privacy)
  • Are there shutters or any other exterior shades? (Interaction of interior and exterior shades).

Take the living room for example: if your windows face north with a garden-view, all available transparency levels from opaque to transparent are the right fit. However, if you have neighbors and look for a higher level of privacy, you should choose a fabric from the transparency levels dimout and opaque. On the other hand, having windows that face south with a lot of sunlight shining in and warming up the room, fabrics with thermal protection are the way to go. The special finish reflects as many sun rays as possible providing a cooler and pleasurable atmosphere. All in all, there’s an ideal shade for everyone!

No additional tools are needed for our shades without drilling. The installation process with the provided clamp holders or adhesive holders is super simple and done in the blink of an eye. For the installation of shades with drilling only a screwdriver is needed.

Pro tips:

  • Pre-drill 4-8 holes into the (inner) window frame with a cordless screwdriver with a small drill (Ø 1.5-2.0 mm) and the installation of the holders with drilling is done in no time.
  • When installing the Up&Down handles onto the rails of your pleated shades for moving the shade up and down, grab a hammer or another blunt object to position and snap them into place even quicker. No need for worries or hesitation as all our components are rock-solid and will serve you faithfully for many many years to come.

Every product is made just for you, fitted to your wishes and desires. However, should something unexpected happen to your beloved shades or its components within the warranty period, we are always there to assist you with a repair or a replacement of your shades and/or its components, after an inspection by our team.
